A Supported You
Cancer is not just a physical process; it affects every part of who you are, often in a very jarring way. Acupuncture can offer comfort, support, and relief from the side effects of conventional treatments. It is a place to feel supported, heard, and human.
Why Choose Acupuncture for Cancer Support?
Modern medicine has made incredible strides in how it treats cancer, with survival rates higher than ever, mainly due to better screening and more advanced therapies. However, the journey can be incredibly demanding and physically, mentally and emotionally challenging.
Interventions like surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation can bring awful side effects, fatigue and emotional strains which affect us deeply. This is where acupuncture is often used as a supporting therapy to mitigate the side effects of conventional care.
As a safe and gentle complementary therapy, acupuncture helps address some of those challenges that come from cancer treatment. It is not about competing with or replacing modern medicine, but instead filling the gaps between the side effects and supporting your whole self throughout the cancer journey and beyond.

How Acupuncture Supports Cancer Patients
Acupuncture can offer comfort throughout the journey, becoming a central place for consistency and support during its challenges. This could be during treatment, where it helps reduce nausea, manage pain, relieve dry mouths, ease hot flushes, and more.
Post-treatment it can also help with healing from surgery, supporting immune functions, reducing peripheral neuropathy, and working on supporting the organs to improve their functioning. Additionally, surviving cancer is a huge milestone, but life after remission can bring its challenges. There's often fatigue, a feeling of fragility, emotional stress, such as fear of recurrence, and so much more. That's where acupuncture can help restore physical, emotional and spiritual equilibrium as you enter the next chapter of life.
It's a highly recommended treatment, often referred to by the NHS and cancer specialists. Over the years, we've seen many people share their experiences of how valuable acupuncture was to them, including Kate Middleton recently.

As soon as I spent a little while with Josh, I knew that I had chosen the right acupuncturist for me! Josh is a good listener and has the elusive emotional intelligence that sets him apart.

Why Choose e

The most important part of choosing the right acupuncturist is finding someone fully qualified. I've trained at a British Acupuncture Council-approved acupuncture college, which means we've had a minimum of 3,600 hours and been trained to a good standard across a three-year period before we are allowed to go on to practice.
This is particularly important in cancer treatments because you must consider all precautions, such as knowing the red flags to look out for, following safe practices regarding needling, such as considering lymph nodes, and so much more.
Outside of this, my interest in working with cancer comes from personal experiences of losing two of my grandparents to cancer. I saw how much they suffered throughout the journey, particularly with their quality of life being affected, so I feel passionate about ensuring my patients can continue living as much as possible.
In addition to this, so much of acupuncture is about providing a sense of support whenever it is needed throughout the journey. As amazing as modern medicine is, the journey is often fragmented with many different doctors, teams, and departments. There's seldom a consistent space where you can simply be yourself. That's often where acupuncture can play a hugely important role, with many patients valuing having someone with whom they can be completely honest without feeling or worrying about burdening those who love them like family.
My goal is to support you throughout the journey. Every session is tailored to your unique needs, treating how you show up each time safely and gently. It's as much about the needles as it is about supporting you as a human being at every stage.
I take time to listen deeply, to understand your story, and to tailor every session to your unique needs. My treatments are gentle, safe, and always carried out with full awareness of your medical history and current condition. For me, this work is about more than needles—it’s about helping you feel supported, steady, and human at every stage. After all, cancer is not a journey that you chose, but it's not one that you have to walk along unsupported.
